I'd agree with Jaylan, I think it's a reflection on the industry rather than a problem specifically with Apple. We've reached the upper limits of what the Information Age can achieve, with AR/VR being the final big step to take before the Age of AI is in full swing.

Most products currently being released by competitors are more trends rather than groundbreaking products. Smart rings, foldable phones and the likes. Apple's strength is holding a valuable ecosystem of core products that many would own most (if not all) of.

A great article, and I would love to see companies like Apple recapture their breakthroughs in the 00's and 10's, but I feel we may have to wait a few more years for AI to develop and provide a platform for another hardware arms race of digital products.
